HORNETS DRAFT ATHLETIC GUARDS SMITH AND PICKETT
The Hornets select J.R. Smith with the 18th pick in the first round and Tim Pickett with the 44th pick in the second round of the NBA Draft. Smith, Hornets General Manager Allan Bristow and Head Coach Byron Scott spoke to the media shortly after the draft to talk about the draft, the potential Smith has to be a great player and the skills Pickett could bring to the Hornets.

GUARDS HIGHLIGHT FINAL WORKOUT
Hornets.com caught up with a trio of guards, Jameer Nelson (St. Joe's Univ.), Rashad Wright (Univ. of Georgia) and Tim Pickett (Florida State University) and Hornets Assistant GM Allan Bristow to talk about the last day of Hornets workouts and their thoughts leading up to the draft.
WORKOUTS WINDING DOWN
Kyle Buggs (Univ. of New Orleans) and Viktor Khryapa (CSKA Moscow) worked out for the Hornets on June 21 and we caught up with them and Assistant General Manager Allan Bristow (Bristow will take over as GM on July 1) to talk about the workouts and the Hornets possibilities as the Draft quickly approaches.
INTERNATIONAL PRESENCE
The Hornets continued pre-draft workouts following the Chicago pre-draft camp by taking a look at Matt Freije (Vanderbilt), Ivan Koljevic (Buducnost - Serbia & Montenegro) and Sasha Vujacic (Snaidero Udine - Italy) on June 15.
WORKOUTS CONTINUE
Trevor Ariza (UCLA), Brad Boyd (ULL), Ernest Porter (SUNO) and Dorrell Wright (South Kent Prep HS) paid a visit to the Alario Center on June 1st for a pre-draft workout.
HOME SWEET HOME
Slidell native and former Duke University standout Chris Duhon returned home, joining Ricky Minard (Morehead State), Jackson Vroman (Iowa State) and Al Jefferson (Prentiss HS) for a pre-draft workout on May 27th.
SURVIVING THE GAME
The Hornets continued to evaluate prospects on May 25 at the Alario Center. Tony Allen (Oklahoma State University - sprinting in the above photo), Bryant Matthews (Virginia Tech University), Antonio Burks (University of Memphis) and Wayne Tinsley (Tulane University) took part in the second day of pre-draft workouts.
DRAFT WORKOUTS BEGIN
The Hornets began their draft workouts May 24 at the Alario Center, where they evaluated prospects Rafael Araujo (BYU), John Edwards (Kent State), Kirk Snyder (Nevada) and Rickey Paulding (Missouri). The Hornets will continue evaluating talent throughout the next few weeks as they look to bring in 30-35 players for individual workouts.
