Career Highlights: Finished collegiate career as the fourth all-time leading shot-blocker in UCLA history with 101. In the summer of his freshman year, was a member of the United States team that won the Global Games Championships in Dallas, and finished in fifth place at the 2003 FIBA Junior World Championships in Thessaloniki, Greece. Originally signed with St. Louis out of high school before requesting a release from his letter-of-intent after a coaching change.
Senior (2005-06): Averaged 7.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 0.88 blocked shots (ranked ninth in the Pac-10) in 21.5 minutes a contest. Field goal percentage of .619 was the ninth best single-season mark in school history. Missed six games due to a strained groin. Scored in double figures 11 times, including five of UCLA’s six games in the NCAA Tournament. Registered 11 points and eight rebounds vs. West Virginia. Led team with a season-high 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting vs. Oregon State in the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 Tournament. Posted 12 points and eight rebounds vs. Gonzaga in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. Tallied 14 points and nine rebounds vs. Memphis in the Oakland Regional Finals, on his way to Regional Most Outstanding Player honors. Posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds in the NCAA title game vs. Florida.
Junior (2004-05): Averaged 4.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and a team-leading 0.82 blocked shots (ranked 10th in the Pac-10) in 16.4 minutes a contest. Scored in double figures twice, with a season-high 13 points vs. Washington State. Tallied 11 points and seven rebounds in the season opener vs. Chicago State. Registered a season-high five blocked shots vs. UC Irvine. Recorded eight points and a season-high eight rebounds at Washington State. Registered eight points and five rebounds in the first round of the NCAA Tournament vs. Texas Tech.
Sophomore (2003-04): Averaged 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 25.4 minutes a contest. Scored in double figures five times, with a career-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds vs. USC. Recorded 10 points and eight rebounds vs. Kentucky. Pulled down a season-high nine rebounds vs. Loyola Marymount.
Freshman (2002-03): Averaged 4.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.9 blocked shots in 16.7 minutes a contest. Started 15 times. Scored season-high 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds vs. Georgetown. Recorded first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 11 rebounds and also blocked seven shots vs. Oregon.
Strengths: Long and lean seven-footer who runs the floor well and has good jumping ability.
Personal: Majored in history. Has one sister. Also competed for the UCLA track and field team in the high jump, long jump and triple jump.
