Originally an early entry candidate for the 2005 NBA Draft, before withdrawing his name from consideration. Participated in the 2005 NBA Pre-Draft Camp in Chicago. Sat out the first three games of this past season due to certain activities and miscommunications that occurred during his NBA tryout process, which resulted in violations of NCAA legislation.

Career Highlights: Was an A-10 All Conference First Team selection in 2005-06, and a Second Team selection n 2004-05. Named A-10 Most Improved Player in 2003-04. Ranks second on George Washington’s career blocked shots list (141).

Senior (2005-06): Led GW in blocks (38) and field goal percentage (.564). Named to NABC All-District 4 First Team. Averaged 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds. Scored a career-high 29 points, to go with 12 rebounds against Duquesne. Suffered slight tear in left meniscus against LaSalle on Feb. 22. Had surgery on Feb. 28 and returned to appear in both of GW’s NCAA Tournament games against UNC-Wilmington and Duke.

Junior (2004-05): Led team in field goal percentage (.571) and blocks (46). Averaged 12.6 points and 6.6 rebounds. Scored a career-high 27 points against St. Mary’s. Scored a game-high 23 point against eventual Final Four participant Michigan State. Tallied 14 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks against LaSalle. Blocked a career-high five shots against Maryland. Named to the A-10 All-Tournament team.

Sophomore (2003-04): Led team in blocks (30) and was among the A-10 leaders in field goal percentage (.616). Tallied 23 points and 11 rebounds against West Virginia in the BB & T Classic, and was the named to the All-Tournament team. Had 17 points and 10 rebounds against 10th ranked St. Joseph’s.

Freshman (2002-03): Team leader in field goal percentage (.585) and blocks (27). Had 24 points, seven rebounds and two blocks against Bucknell. Scored a team-high 16 points against Binghamton.

Strengths: Athletic and aggressive forward who finishes at the rim with authority. Excellent leaper. Led his team in blocks all four seasons at George Washington.

Personal: Son of Henry and Agnes Mensah-Bonsu. Grew up in London playing soccer and running track. Brother Kojo played at Washington State and now plays professionally in Europe. Has three other siblings: Audrey, Wiafe and Benson.
