Spent two seasons at Brevard Community College in Florida. Tried to enroll at Southern Indiana in September of 2004, and was practicing with the team, before deciding to sign a professional contract with the Las Vegas Rattlers of the American Basketball Association. Currently playing for the Rome Gladiators of the World Basketball Association.
2004-05: Named ABA Rookie of the Year, averaging 20.8 points in 12 games with the Las Vegas Rattlers.
Sophomore (2002-03): At Brevard CC, ranked second nationally in scoring (28.6 ppg) and eighth in assists (8.3 apg). Named All-Region, All-State and All-Conference.
Freshman (2001-02): At Brevard, averaged 21.0 points, 8.4 assists and 3.4 steals. Named All-State, All-Region and All-Conference.
High School: A two-sport star at Dunbar (basketball and football). Was All-State and All-Metro in basketball, averaging 25 points and eight assists in leading Dunbar to a Maryland 2A state title in 1999. Was also an All-State, All-Region and High School All-American in football at Dunbar. Set the Dunbar single-game record with 624 total yards and Maryland state record with six touchdowns in a single contest. Finished up his high school career at Gwynn Lake Prep, where he averaged 35 points and six assists as a senior.
Strengths: A slight point man, who can score in bunches. He has quickness to add to a crafty handle with vision and pin-point passing accuracy. Furthermore, he has toughness he learned from football and leadership skills to direct teammates with good knowledge of the game. A solid defender.
Personal: Nephew of Earthel Garris. Nickname is “Majic.”
